Tools for Empowerment and Healing
If you're anything like me, you have been feeling the fear in the air lately. I find myself asking the question, "Is this mine? Is it theirs? Or is it ours?"
Regardless of the answer, it is present, affecting us all, and does not feel empowering.
While I understand that these are uncertain and challenging times, I want to gently remind you that your emotional state will affect your body and health. Being in a state of calmness will give you the clarity, intuition, and strength to navigate through this time.
I want you to have your power back and I want you to remember that you are not a victim, helpless, or powerless in this situation.
Remember how powerful your mind is...and how responsive your body is to your mind. Because the fact of the matter is that the body doesn't judge...it responds.
Here are tools I turned to and want to share that create inner peace, facilitate healing within, and align the mind, body, heart and soul.
First and foremost, Connect to your breath...not after someone coughs or sneezes in your immediate vicinity as you already know ;).
Inhale as fully and deeply as you can, and exhale fully allowing yourself to release any tension or emotions (fear, anxiety, worry, etc) that are being held in your body. Keep the breath moving in a rhythmical fashion (almost like an accordion) to slow down and cease the continuous release of stress hormones. This will gradually move you out of "fight, flight, or freeze," mode and will replenish you, recenter you, and revitalize you.
Another tool that can be very potent to bring you serenity and wellbeing on all levels is the practice of the Loving Kindness Meditation.
Here's how it is done:
Sit or lay down in a comfortable position with your eyes gently closed
Visualize one being in front of you (a person, animal, deity, etc) that you trust and know wants the absolute highest and best for you
See healing light rays emanating from their heart to yours bathing you in warm radiant light as they repeatedly offer you the following 4 phrases with unconditional love:
May you be safe
May you be happy
May you be healthy
May you live with ease
Allow yourself to receive and bask in the energy of these phrases, soaking it up, as if you are a puppy soaking up the sun for a few minutes (or as long as you would like).
After you are complete with absorbing all of this energy, feel free to stay in your meditation and share this practice towards anyone you feel that would benefit from it.
I have been in this practice and deep prayer since this began and I can say that it certainly has a beneficial effect for me. Try it for yourself and notice how you feel.
I am holding space for you to be in optimal health. I am sending you so much love and compassion during this time. I pray that you feel it. I pray that you feel held and supported. I pray that you feel divine protection over you and your loved ones. I pray that you remember that You Are Love. And I pray that you remember how powerful you are.
May Divine Grace move through you always...and may this vibration spread faster than any virus or contagion.
